💡 What's a DTV letter?
DTV stands for Direct to Vendor. These letters go straight to the homeowner not an estate agent making them one of the most powerful tools for sourcing off-market deals.
STEP 1 — Find your property and open the Send Letter tab
Search for or select the property you want to write to. Once you're on the Property Details page, click the Send Letter tab in the navigation bar at the top.
👉 The Send Letter tab shows the Letters Campaign panel on the left and the DTV Letters Generator on the right.
STEP 2 — Open the letter template generator
In the DTV Letters Generator panel on the right, click "Open the letters template generator". This launches the AI-powered letter builder. A popup showing all available Focus options and your current credit usage.
STEP 3 — Choose a focus for your letters
Select a Focus from the options shown — this tells the AI what angle to take with your letters. Options include:
• General
• Price Reduced
• Back on the market
• Long time on the market
• Long time sold STC
• Multiple agents
• Short lease
• Low EPC
• Withdrawn
• R2R Guaranteed Rent
Then click Generate.
💡 Tip: Choosing the right Focus makes a big difference to the tone and relevance of your letters. Think about who's likely to own this type of property and what might resonate with them.
STEP 4 — Review your four generated letters
The generator produces four letters, each tailored for a different follow-up date. This gives you a ready-made sequence so you're not just sending one letter and hoping for the best.
STEP 5 — Copy, personalise, and send
Copy the letter you want into a Word document or your preferred editor. Add any personal touches: your name, contact details, or anything property-specific before printing and posting.
💡 Tip: A short handwritten addition at the bottom (or even a handwritten envelope) can significantly improve response rates on DTV letters.
STEP 6 — Keep an eye on your monthly credits
Each member can generate up to 100 DTV letters per month. Your monthly credit resets based on the date you first generated a letter not a fixed calendar month.
